What is Black Flour Bread?
Access to healthy, fresh food is limited for people facing food insecurity in Napa County and nationwide. Low-income communities often rely on donated or government-provided food that is highly processed, nutrient-poor, and sometimes surplus items that would otherwise be discarded. This lack of nutritious options contributes to poor health and diminished quality of life for vulnerable populations.
Black Flour addresses this issue by supplying homemade artisanal bread and baked goods to local food banks, shelters, and directly to those in need. By using high-quality, nutritious ingredients and offering educational programs on baking and nutrition, Black Flour not only enhances food options but also empowers individuals with the skills to improve their health and well-being.
